This month we caught up with Aisleen Dowling, TransferMate's VP Partnership Sales, EMEA who has been on our team for the last 10 years.
What is your favorite thing about working in TransferMate?
I know it is said a lot, but definitely the people. I am in daily contact with multiple colleagues across many departments within the company and they’ve always been a pleasure to work with.
What has been your biggest achievement or highlight since joining TransferMate?
Signing TransferMate’s very first Global Account API with my partner Fyorin way back in 2022.
Who or what has inspired you the most during your time here?
Probably the partners I’ve had the opportunity to work with. Being exposed to different business models and seeing how companies are solving problems across the payments industry has challenged me to learn and develop my own knowledge.
What is the biggest chane that you have witnessed in your time here?
I would probably say the evolution of the company. When I started in Direct Sales, our client conversations were much more traditional. Today, we’re delivering API integrations for embedded payments with some of the biggest names in their respective industries.
What is the greatest challenge that you have faced in your time here and how did you overcome it?
Moving from Direct Sales into Partnerships was quite a challenge as it was completely new territory for me. I had to learn an entirely different and more complex proposition and way of selling, but I quickly realised I was really comfortable in that space and enjoyed the challenge of learning something new.
What has been your favourite project to work on?
I would probably say TriumphPay. It was the first nested-flow API partnership I worked on, so there was a lot for me to learn throughout the process. It really helped develop my understanding of more complex payment flows and gave me a strong foundation for the partnerships and prospect discussions I’ve worked on since.
Do you have advice for someonewho is just starting their career in CluneTech / TransferMate?
Stay curious and don’t ever be afraid to ask questions. The payments industry is one where you are constantly learning, and some of the best opportunities I’ve worked on over the past ten years have come from being willing to step outside my comfort zone and take on something new.
