This month we caught up with Benamic's PMO, Teodora Koleva who has been on our team for the last 10years.

What is your favorite thing about working in CluneTech?

The people! The people! The people!

From my own experience, I can say that money is important, as it supports our families, and loving what you do is important because it gives meaning to your work. But if you don't connect with the people you work with, even a job you like can become much less enjoyable, and sooner or later you may start looking for a different environment.

The Benamic colleagues are welcoming, understanding, and supportive, and they are truly the company’s biggest asset.

What has been your biggest achievement or highlight sincejoining CluneTech?

Well, celebrating my 10-year anniversary is quite an impressive achievement on its own – I think that has to be it.

What is the biggest change that you have witnessed inyour time here?

I don't think any single change stands out as particularly impressive at this point because I've seen so much over the years. I've seen people who spent their entire careers at Benamic leave, which really felt like the end of an era. I've been through three CEO changes, watched our systems evolve through several redesigns and visual updates, and experienced five office relocations.

After all of that, I don't think any single change feels particularly big anymore.

What is the greatest challenge that you have faced inyour time here and how did you overcome it?

Stepping into the Web PMO role was a major milestone in my career, but it was also quite intimidating since I don't come from a technical background.

Still, that wasn't the biggest challenge I faced during my time at Benamic – that actually came before it, when I was working as a Project Manager. I was managing a multinational project covering more than 20 countries, each with its own specific setup, exceptions, and texts. A project like that usually takes 4 weeks to set up. During the setup phase, the client changed the requirements three times, which meant I had to redo a huge amount of work each time. But the cherry on top was when, just three hours before the end of my shift on the day before the project launch, they changed everything once again.

That was the only time I have genuinely cried at work because I felt so overwhelmed, frustrated, and powerless.

The good news is that every single one of my teammates immediately stopped what they were doing and came to the rescue. They split the remaining work between them, and thanks to everyone's determination and teamwork, we managed to complete everything on time. To this day, that is one of the best examples I can think of of what makes the people at Benamic so special.

What has been your favourite project to work on?

There isn't a single task I'd call my favourite because I genuinely enjoy my job and the work I do overall. There are definitely a few less-favourite tasks, though. 😄

If I had to choose, my favourite part is finding ways to optimize the services and features we already offer. There's always something that can be improved, and seeing those improvements help other people do their jobs faster and more easily is incredibly rewarding.

Do you have advice for someone who is just starting theircareer in CluneTech?

Not really. Every person is different, and everyone will experience CluneTech from their own perspective. The only thing I can say is that when someone truly finds their place in the company, they might not even notice how quickly the years pass – and before they know it, they could be celebrating their own 10-year anniversary too.
