10 October 2025, Dublin, Ireland. CluneTech Founder and CEO Terry Clune has been honoured with the Outstanding Achievement Award at the National Fintech Awards 2025, held in the Mansion House, Dublin, on Thursday evening, 09 October.
The inaugural National Fintech Awards were established to celebrate the exceptional achievements of the entire Irish Fintech industry, recognising those who have demonstrated exceptional innovation, leadership, and growth in this dynamic and constantly evolving sector.
The recognition follows a very successful period for the Irish entrepreneur, which saw CluneTech company Immedis, a leading global payroll platform, acquired by UKG in for €575M, in one of Ireland’s largest tech deals of 2023.
Mr Clune is the Founder and CEO of CluneTech, a suite of technology companies that includes TransferMate, the world’s leading B2B payments infrastructure-as-a-service provider. Under the leadership of Mr Clune, TransferMate achieved unicorn status last year with a $1 billion valuation following a $70 million funding round, joining an elite group of just seven Irish tech unicorns to date.
Several CluneTech companies, including TransferMate, Fintua (formerly Taxback International) and Sprintax, were also nominated on the night, reflecting the group’s ongoing impact and innovation across the fintech sector.
Since 1996, he has grown CluneTech into a group of fintech companies with industry-leading solutions and global reach, specialising in streamlining processes such as cross-border payments, tax compliance, global VAT, payroll and digital sales. From its Irish headquarters, he and his team have built the business from the ground up into a global leader in fintech, with offices in 21 countries and a footprint across four continents.
